The hikers’ paradise
The Sancy Massif offers an inexhaustible playground for nature lovers. Whether you are a Sunday walker or a seasoned hiker, marked trails await you at the door of La Bourboule.
Unmissable itineraries
- Puy de Sancy: The highest point of the Massif Central (1885m). Accessible by cable car or via the ridges for the bravest. The 360° view is breathtaking.
- Banne d’Ordanche: An accessible hike offering an exceptional panorama of the Chaîne des Puys.
- Dordogne Valley: For gentler walks along the water.
Skiing and winter sports
From the first snows, the Sancy transforms. The Mont-Dore resort, on the northern slope of the Sancy, is quickly accessible from La Bourboule.
- Alpine skiing: Slopes for all levels, from beginner to expert (Sancy couloirs).
- Cross-country skiing: The Capucin Nordic area offers tracks traced in the woods, magical after a snowfall.
- Snowshoeing: Many marked itineraries to discover the mountain differently.
After effort, comfort
There is nothing like returning to Les Marmottes after a day in the fresh air to taste a truffade or a good hot chocolate in a warm setting.
